Ethical Standards for Practitioners – Part 3

Strong ethical standards set the tone for an organization and ensure that clients and their participants can trust a profession.  The values of different practitioners run the gamut across the industry.  The Society of Actuaries (SOA) has a detailed list for their members on their web site located at  The organization’s professional Code of Conduct emphasizes the importance of legal compliance in addition to honest activities and communication.   The organization makes a firm stand behind their code by indicating how issues should be addressed and noting that violations are subject to disciplinary actions.
