Retirement Benefits in Bankruptcy

Perhaps you have a former employer that went out of business.  Information for participants about employee benefits is located on the DOL web site.  The EBSA has created a resource for such situations at   The site addresses other benefits, but it does discuss how participants become fully vested when a retirement plan is terminated.  It also touches on PBGC insured benefits for those applicable plans.
