Is What They Do Clear?

Are your retirement plan service providers clear in what they do? Selling third party administration, legal advice, or investment advice is done by many different companies. Why are they special? The more muddled the service definition is, the more muddled the service delivery is likely to be.

They should have a clear mission. They need to be different, and they need to understand why they are different. For instance, you may want a TPA that provides higher service levels, better plan design, faster turnaround, or another measure. In addition, you want consistency. If someone is selling you a high quality service at a premium price, they need to have fully qualified and trained staff.
